Gary Brandt 
Chairman and CEO

Mr. Brandt has been active in the ship-repair business for more than 30 years. He knows the feel of the deckplate beneath his feet. He also knows what it takes deliver a quality job on time and on budget. He was President and Chief Executive Officer of Marine Hydraulics International from January 1, 1999 to July 1, 2008, when he took on responsibilities as Chief Executive Office and Chairman of the Board for American Maritime Holdings (AMH).

Mr. Brandt  diligently focuses on setting the course of strategic growth for AMH. He is also actively engaged in numerous professional and civic organizations including the Southside Boys and Girls Club, and international children’s orphanages along with many other civic and philanthropic organizations.

 

 

Michael S. Torrech
President and Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Torrech started his career at Técnico Corporation in 1992. He became President of Técnico in 2000. Under his leadership; the company achieved significant growth   through a strategy of quality improvement and of geographic growth. Mr. Torrech is familiar with the feel of the deck plate under his feet having served as a protégé under the watchful eye of his father, Raphael Torrech, the founder of Técnico Corporation.      

On July 1, 2008 Mr. Torrech took on new responsibilities as President and Chief Operating Officer of American Maritime Holdings. Mr.Torrech is engaged in the strategic growth and operations of AMH and its holdings. Mr.Torrech has been instrumental in the growth of several other companies in Hampton Roads, Virginia through the U.S. Government’s 8(a) Mentor Protégé program.

He is actively involved on the leadership teams of several civic, industry and philanthropic organizations.
